Are your computer fans spinning like crack whores on mopeds? Making so much noise that your ears may very well fall of? Well this tutorial may very well be for you.
what you will need:
*molex removal tool/tweezers.
*fans....der
How To:
First remove the pins connecting your fan wires to the Molex plug, you should have 2 or more wires coming of the fan try not to damage the pins or you'll have trouble later.
Next just follow the diagrams to set your fans voltage to either 12V (stock), 7V (medium) or 5V (lowest speed, be careful some fans will not start at 5V and will need to be set to 7V. or you can make a switch to change it from 7V (start it at this voltage) and then switch it down to 5V.)
Ok next you will need to wire up your fan according to the diagram. If you want 5V then wire your fans red wire to the 5V connection and the black wire to the ground connection next to it. If you want 12V (usually stock) then wire the red wire of your fan to the 12V connection and the black wire to a ground. For 7V, wire the red wire to the 12V connection and the black wire to the 5V connection. (12V-5V = 7V).
Yea that’s about it for volting a fan, you can wire up a switch pretty easily, you can work that out yourselves.
Up and coming, Painting a fan + painting effects.
***be aware this technique may not work for fans with more cables (they automatically change there speeds according to temperature). ***
